A bunch of Samsung devices go to India for testing

There are about ten Samsung devices that showed up on an Indian import and export database that will be making their way through the country.
Included in the database is a Samsung Galaxy S5 with a 2K display: the Samsung SM-G906S and Samsung SM-G906K. These are expected to be the “premium versions” of the Galaxy S5 that have been circulating on the internet.

The other devices include the Samsung SM-G310HN, which is part of Samsung's ACE line of phones. The Samsung SM-V700 is Samsung's smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear. The Samsung SM-G313F is on the list and not much is known about it but it's supposed to be a smartphone.
There's also a crop of already released devices on the list: The Samsung SM-T335 (Galaxy Tab 4), SM-G310HN (Galaxy Ace Styles), SGH-l187 (Ativ S Neo), SCH-I930 (ATIV Odyssey), Samsung SPH-I800 (ATIV S Neo), Samsung SM-G900R4 (GS5 US Cellular), amongst many others.
If you check out the database, the list is pretty self-explanatory. Some of the devices on the list aren't even released yet and Samsung hasn't made an official comment on the phones, tablets, and gear that'll be arriving in the region to be tested.

Nokia Oyj will soon be renamed to Microsoft Mobile Oy

The Microsoft acquisition of Nokia Devices and Services is expected to close later this month and to prepare for the transition a letter has been sent out to Nokia's supplier base. The letter, which has leaked online, suggests that Nokia Oyj will get a new name: Microsoft Mobile Oy.

The company is going to exist as a fully-owned Microsoft subsidiary and as you would expect it is going to handle the mobile devices production. The letter reveals that current terms and conditions that suppliers were having with Nokia                                                                    until now will not be changed.
Nokia is keeping its relationship with existing supplier partners, but considering the company's main operations remain NSN, HERE Maps and Advanced Technology unit, it may not soon need some of them, as most deal with hardware.
Nokia has been rumored to be working on a smartwatch, but we don't know if the company is going to keep the development.

LG G3 to arrive in gold, according to leaked retail box

Ever since Apple introduced a gold version of theiPhone 5s, smartphone manufacturers have been adding blinged-out colour choices to their range. HTC has the One (m8), Samsung has the Galaxy S5 and now, if a leaked image is to be believed, LG may be joining those ranks with the G3.
Photos revealed by The Verge show what is apparently a retail box for the G3 handset, complete with gold finish that supposedly indicates that the phone itself will be finished with a gold hue. As with any leak the image should be treated with some suspicion, but it's currently the closest we've come to seeing the final phone which LG is being careful to keep under wraps.
LG G3 retail box
The focus of much rumour and speculation, the G3 is shaping up to be a terrific handset - if recent leaks are to be believed. The successor to the LG G2 will apparently be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor found in the Galaxy S5, HTC One m8 and Sony's Xperia Z2, include a 13-megapixel rear camera and, most importantly, one of the first QHD 2,650x1,440 resolution screens on a smartphone - although benchmark results suggest there may be an alternate 1080p model coming as well.
It's also possible that one of the two devices is the building blocks for an inevitable Nexus 6, a successor to the LG-developed Google Nexus 5 which itself was heavily based on the G2.
With no word from LG on the legitimacy of the leak, or an official announcement regarding a reveal date, we'll just have to wait to see what the company has planned later in the year.

Facebook Paper got its first big update today, but is anyone using it?

Here's a shocker: Facebook's first major update to Paper, its socially augmentednews-reading app, makes it more social. Specifically, the app's 1.1 update now allows users to comment on posts using photos, as well as added birthday and event notifications and tacked on an unread-message counter to help users keep track of Group activity. Facebook hasn't fiddled with the user interface much, but content from Bloomberg, Mashable, Popular Science and six other news sources has been gussied up with new, custom article covers. Oh, and the company says it's made the app run a little faster, too. It's not a game-changing update, but anything's better than forgetting your spouse's birthday -- assuming Facebook'smain app didn't already remind you. Has Paper found its way to your home screen? We're running a quick poll: Skip past the break to drop in a vote or leave us a note.
