XOLO Q1011 with Android 4.4 KitKat now out in India

Indian phone maker XOLO has unveiled a new device today. The Q1011 may or may not serve as a follow-up to the Q1010, coming with a different design but mostly similar specs. One thing's for certain, though - the new handset is already up for grabs at Amazon India.
It's priced at Rs. 9,999, which at the current exchange rates means $166 or €122.

So you may be wondering what exactly you get for that low price. The XOLO Q1011 comes with a 5-inch touchscreen with 720p resolution, as well as a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM.
On the back there's an 8MP BSI camera with LED flash, and a 2MP snapper takes care of selfies. The phone has dual-SIM support and 4GB of internal storage that's expandable via microSD cards. A 2250 mAh Li-Po battery keeps things running smoothly, and Android 4.4 KitKat comes preinstalled.
The XOLO Q1011 is definitely all about affordability, though its specs are surprisingly decent for the price.

HTC is working on bringing Android L to the One line fast

Google has just announced the Android L developer preview, which will become available to download tomorrow. However, the new version of the mobile OS will only be finalized in a few months, it seems.
So it's going to be quite a wait until you'll see this on your smartphone. But now HTC has contacted us to bring you some good news: at least this phone maker won't extend your waiting period by too much.
If you have either the One (M8) or the original One from last year, you can expect to see updates to Android L start rolling out within 90 days of when the smartphone maker receives final software from Google.

Shortly after that, other, unnamed One family members will also receive the new bits, along with select additional devices (probably a Desire-branded phone or two, if we're lucky).
The 90-day commitment is akin to what HTC has done for the One last year when Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat. And since the company kept its promise then, there's no reason to think it won't this time around.

iPhone 6 5.5-inch model to feature OIS and 128GB option

Given the sheer amount of leaks, it's near-confirmed that Apple will be releasing its next iPhone 6 with two screen variants, a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch model. The latter is obviously in phablet territory, and the latest rumors indicate that Apple has plans on bumping it up to house 128GB of internal memory, and also add optical image stabilization for the camera.

Until now, the largest iPhone model has been 64GB, which indicates that phablet-esque functions (i.e. ones that require additional storage space for data and documents) could be in store for the alleged 5.5-inch flagship. It's also reported that the inclusion of OIS is to be restricted to the 5.5-inch model, and that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 won't get camera stabilization. The news comes by way of Chinese site Wei Feng, who quote Deutsche Telecom as the source. The German carrier also says that both models are to be announced on September 19, which coincides with traditional late summer Apple announcements.Be sure to check back with us often, as more iPhone 6 leaks are bound to appear the closer we get to the alleged launch date.

Apple iPhone 6 pricing info from China promises a price drop

A report from China about the Apple iPhone 6 confirms the September 19 launch date (initially unveiled by
German carrier Deutsche Telekom) and offers price for the 4.7" version of the upcoming iPhone.
The 32GB version is slated to cost CNY 5,300 ($850 / €625), while the 64GB version will be CNY 6,300 ($1010 / €740). That's actually a drop in price as a 16GB iPhone 5s currently costsCNY 5,300 in China, while the 64GB model is CNY 6,900, so if the rumors pan out we can expect international prices to drop.
It's not clear if there will be a 16GB version at all. The price of the bigger 5.5" iPhone 6 also remains unclear. If you missed it, check out the extensive video that compares the 4.7" and 5.5" iPhone 6 options (in dummy form).
Apple's manufacturing partners are reportedly bolstering their capacity before the launch. Foxconn is recruiting 10 thousand new employees while Pegatron is upping its staff by 30%. The two companies will split the manufacturing 70 / 30.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to launch on September 25, sources claim

A report from South Korea has surfaced claiming that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will enter mass production in June-July to be ready for a wide global release soon after its announcement at the upcoming IFA (which starts the first week of September).
Just like the Note 3 last year, the Galaxy Note 4 will be launched on September 25 globally. This info reportedly comes from multiple shareholders, who have knowledge on the matter.
The new Note is expected to have a 5.7" Super AMOLED screen with QHD resolution and will come intwo versions – a Snapdragon 805 one and an Exynos 5433 one. Both will have 3GB of RAM, 32GB storage and run Android 4.4.3 with the latest TouchWiz.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to have a 16MP main camera and a 3.68MP front-facing camera (QHD = 3.68MP). Whether or not it will come in a curved-screen version and one with a three-sided screen remains to be seen.

Android TV name-dropped in Riptide GP2 changelog

Google I/O is just hours away now and a lot of exciting new stuff is expected to be announced today, including a new version of Android. Now you can expect one more thing to be announced today, and that is Android TV.

Game developer Vector Unit recently updated the changelog for their game Riptide GP2 and inadvertently mentioned support for the upcoming Android TV. The changelog has since been reverted but not without giving some information about the Android TV.
Well, one thing we know now for sure is that it will definitely support games, so we are looking at something more like Amazon Fire TV than the Apple TV. There will also be a split-screen mode support in the game, likely for two player mode. Rest of the functionality, we believe, would be similar to the Chromecast but in a bigger package.

HTC Desire 610 smiles for the camera on its way to AT&T

HTC made the Desire 610 official back in February during MWC, and it's since been out in certain parts of Europe. Now though, it looks like the midranger is headed towards the US, where it should be sold by AT&T.The information comes via evleaks, who claims the image you can see to the left is a render of the AT&T-bound Desire 610.If that's the case, the carrier has thankfully chosen to avoid slapping its logo on the front of the handset. That means it's definitely going to be on the back - an image of which hasn't been leaked yet.At the moment it's unclear when the HTC Desire 610 will be on store shelves at AT&T, or how much it will cost. That said, with it not bearing flagship level specs the price has to be decent, perhaps in the $50-$100 range with a new two-year contract. If AT&T's model will be identical to the internationally-sold one (and there's no reason for it not to be), then it shall sport a 4.7-inch touchscreen with qHD (540x960) resolution and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with a 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU, along with 1GB of RAM.Internal storage may be 8GB, expandable via microSD cards. The Desire 610 has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, and a 1.3MP front-facing unit. You should also expect to see 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and maybe even NFC in there, with a 2040 mAh battery keeping things running.
