Sony "considering" adding game pre-load capabilities to PS4

Sony
Sony has confirmed that it is considering adding the ability to pre-load PS4 titles ahead of launch, in a nod to the troubles people can have attempting to use digital distribution services on slower internet connections.
Both Sony's PS4 and Microsoft's rival Xbox Onemake heavy use of the companies' respective digital distribution platforms, allowing players to pick up games without having to leave the house or wait for the delivery of a physical disc. Although convenient, such a system does have its downsides - including a prolonged wait for those whose download speeds aren't up to the task of grabbing games that can be as large as 50GB.
It was previously suggested that Sony is looking to resolve the issue by offering a pre-load service that allows gamers to download game files before its official launch. While this data won't be available to play until launch day, once the time rolls round it will be instantly ready to play - with none of the launch-day waiting currently suffered.
"We know that [pre-loading] is the feature you've been asking for and we are considering it accordingly," an unnamed Sony spokesperson has told gaming sitePolygon. "We do not have specific details to announce at this point in time, but stay tuned for upcoming announcements about system updates and added features."
The news comes as Sony has announced the success of its recently-launchedInfamous: Second Son, which has shot straight to the top of the all-formats chart and has apparently doubled sales of the next-generation PS4 console.
